- Screen readers read Unicode letters badly — often letter by letter or as math symbols.
- Links, @mentions and #hashtags are kept plain on purpose: styled, a link stops working, a mention notifies no one and a hashtag is just text. X search may not match a styled word either, so keep key words plain.
- Use it for a word or a line, not the whole post. Styling does not boost reach.
How to use the Twitter font generator
Write in the box. The counter shows its length the way X, Threads and Bluesky count it, as you type.
Copy any style from the list for the whole text, or select a word or line in the box and press Bold, Italic or another style to change only that part.
Copy the result and paste it into X, Threads, Bluesky, a bio or a display name. Clear formatting turns styled letters back into plain ones.
Where bold, italic and fancy fonts work
The styles are ordinary Unicode characters, so they paste anywhere text goes. What changes is how each platform counts them and how people find them.
Works in posts, replies and threads. Most styled letters count as 2 characters toward the 280 limit, so a fully styled post fits about half the words.
Works in posts and replies. Threads counts each Unicode character once against its 500 limit, so a styled letter costs nothing extra; strikethrough and underline add one per character.
Works in posts. Bluesky counts what you see — one styled letter is one of its 300 characters.
Works in X, Threads and Bluesky bios. Keep it to a word or two: a bio people cannot search or read aloud works against you.
Works on most platforms, but a styled name can be hard to find in search and some apps show missing-letter boxes. Plain name, styled accent is safer.
Twitter font generator FAQ
Is this Twitter font generator free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, with no login, no limit and nothing sent to a server. Copy as much as you like.
Do Twitter fonts count as extra characters?
Yes, on X. X weighs most styled letters as 2 characters each, because they sit outside the Unicode ranges it counts as 1. Bolding a five-letter word adds 5 to your count. Links always count as 23 and emoji as 2. Threads and Bluesky count a styled letter as 1.
Can styled text get my account shadowbanned?
There is no evidence that Unicode fonts by themselves restrict an account. They are ordinary Unicode characters. But a post that is hard to read or search earns less engagement, so use them for a word or a line, not the whole post.
Are Unicode fonts accessible?
Not very. Screen readers often read styled letters as math symbols, letter by letter, or skip them, and X search may not match a styled word to its plain spelling. Keep key words, hashtags and names plain.
Do these fonts work on Threads and Bluesky?
Yes. They are standard Unicode characters, so they paste into Threads, Bluesky, Instagram and most apps. A few older devices show empty boxes for rarer styles such as squared letters.
How do I bold just one line of a tweet?
Select the line in the box above and press Bold. Only the selected text changes; the rest stays plain. Then copy the whole post.
Format it, then schedule it.
Your text opens in the Postory Formatter: fix and format it, check it against each platform's limit, and post or schedule it to X, Threads and Bluesky. Free to start.
